Today I received from a friend the picture of a woman in a very traditional Burka.
This woman was in the NYC subway commuting as many other people. It's true that NYC is the place in the World where anything can happen, but this picture made me thing of our current project in Afghanistan where Filmannex is cooperating with a very brave and business oriented woman: Roya Mahboob (http://francescorulli.com/movie/a-businesswoman-in-herat-with-voiceover/28899)

Afghanistan Women have been forced for long time to wear burka or similar clothes to cover their face and body, now it's a crucial time for historic change in this country.
Empowering the Afghanistan education system is one of the long term goals of Roya and Filmannex together with our Afghandevelopment webtv.
Building school in Afghanistan is the first step, providing media/internet tools to the kids and teachers is extraordinary important to raise these kids with
a new vision that is not against their values and tradition and will help the weaker part of society (kids, women and handicapped) to study english,
learn how to operate a computer, how to communicate through it and be part of the Globalization instead of remaining in a medieval structure that doesn't allow to evolve to itself.

The lack of education in Afghanistan is the main reason for the Talibans to be there and be in control of the population.
From our interviews to the Marines, Afghani people are very nice and gentle and they recognize the value of peacekeepers sent there to protect civilians from terrorist like Talibans.
I really hope that we can bring several Corporate companies to invest in this part of the World and boost Afghanistan economy, so in 10 years from now We will see big building, modern roads and trains, business developing in multiple directions and happy kids!
